In a quest for a sustainable future artists are amongst those who instead of global constructs offer resilient alternatives, which are like living micro-organisms that arise in the gaps of concrete macro-structures.

Since 2009 the artists collective RIXC has worked in cross-fields of art and renewable energy by addressing sustainability issues and initiating of a series of events and co-projects, in a result of which new Baltic Nordic cooperation platform – the Network for Art and Renewable Energy Technologies (Renewable Network) was launched. Throughout the year 2010 a number of follow-up events and related activities took place in Baltic Nordic region as well as in Caucasus and other EU countries, just to name a few – Herbologies workshops in Latvia and Finland, Wedding between Art and Agriculture in Sweden, WindowFarms Finland and Long Bean/WindowFarms Riga projects, Transbiotics workshop and exhibition in Riga, Organized Networks/Sustainability workshops in Reykjavik, Stavanger, Tbilisi, Yerevan, etc.

The Renewable Network Map and Online Interface is a visualization of these artistic investigations – it maps projects, people and fields, as well as their interrelations, connections and overlapping.
