RIXC artists Raitis Smits and Rasa Smite together with sound artist Voldemars Johansons are participating in this year’s 15th International Media Art Biennale “WRO 2013” with their collaborative innovative artwork “Bacteria Battery No. 8”. WRO Biennale will take place from May 8 to 12, 2013 in Wrocław, Poland where the “Bacteria Battery” installation will be showcased at the Biennale exhibition until June 16.
WRO biennale is one of the leading events for new media art in Eastern Europe gathering more than 200 artists each year – both upcoming and internatinally renowned authors from different countries across Europe and the globe. Since its inception in 1989, WRO has been organized by WRO Center for Media Art Foundation and since 2008 – by WRO Art Center which is the single independent organization in Poland focusing on new media for artistic expression and communication and building a critical perspective toward emerging issues in art, technology and society.
