This weekend was the last opportunity to explore the grandiose media art exhibition FIELDS that took place between May 15 – August 3 at the Arsenals Exhibition Hall of the Latvian National Museum of Art. The exhibition, curated by Raitis Šmits, Rasa Šmite (Latvia) and Armin Medosch (Austria) presented almost 40 artworks from different countries, interpreting and challenging the term “fields” in the most imaginative ways.
Fields presented a lively landscape of art that challenges existing viewpoints and deconstructs social issues, but also proposes positive visions for the future. To get acquinted with the alternative food of the future, to look at the world through the eyes of animals, to look deeper into the problems of the contemporary society and environment, to experience a relaxing hypnosis session were only few of the opportunities provided by the exhibition.
